Job Orientation, Take 2

Today my husband and my two brothers plan on going again to the federal government job orientation. Since they don’t want a repeat of yesterday, they are taking better precaution. Today is church service night so just waiting until then.

July 31, 2008 Blog Prompt: Instead of what you have to do today, what would you rather be doing?
I rather be looking along with my husband, for a new place to live. Then being approved right on the spot and begin shopping for furniture and whatnot for our new home.

Job Orientation

Today my husband and my two brothers went to a federal government job orientation. It’s for 1 ½ hours. We they came home, they told us that they got there 10 minutes late and wasn’t permitted to stay. Well, the flyer did say do not be late. Also there is testing so everyone must be on time. Luckily the orientation is on for tomorrow as well and so they plan on going then.

July 30, 2008 Blog Prompt: On this date in 1932, the Olympic games opened in Los Angeles. They'll start next week again in Beijing. How do you feel about the Olympics?
As a teenager, I would sit with my siblings and watch the summer Olympics. Our favorite part was the men’s and women’s gymnastics. My brothers used to “flip” (tumbling/gymnastics) and so they would call out the different types of action the gymnasts would perform.

Funny Moment

Had service today and during the praise and testimony portion, we had a humorous moment. My mother starting singing as my brother David played his guitar. Then my mother just got loud with her singing but the manner she did it in was comedic. You just had to be there.

July 29, 2008 Blog Prompt: To nap or not to nap? Which side of this issue are you on?
Umm did I mentioned I have two boys, ages 2 ½ years and 9 ½ weeks old? Oh yeah I nap when I can.

Laid Back Day

Ahh just another hot Monday here. All in all today is just a laid back day. I noticed I am having more days like these.

July 28, 2008 Blog Prompt: In honor of Beatrix Potter's birthday, tell us about some of the books (as a child and an adult) that you have loved over the years.
Ooh we get to talk about books. First off, I am a huge fan of Beatrix Potter’s books. I had the whole collection as a child. Now that I have children, I am planning on buying the collection as well. I have too many books to speak of. My mother kept me with books and I enjoyed every minute of it. Here’s a layout in tribute to my “joys of reading”: http://www.digitalscrapbookplace.com/gallery/showphoto.php?photo=209745&cat=500&ppuser=98978 (copy and paste)

Another Sunday

Another day of church service and it was wonderful. It was also very hot today. Luckily it wasn’t humid also. My mother made a wonderful pasta dish compose of shrimp, penne pasta, broccoli, red bell peppers and chicken breast, all with alfredo sauce. On the side was French bread and green beans. Yummy! For the rest of the day, I just relaxed and researched what layouts I wanted to scrap.

Leaving Washington

Christopher, our sons and I got up approximately at 4-4:30 am to head out to SeaTac International Airport. Our flight leaves at 7:30 am and from Lakewood to SeaTac, it is about a 45 minutes to an hour drive. Christopher mother cried really hard and we all hugged good bye. We arrived at SeaTac Airport at about 6; we left Lakewood at 5:15. My sister Felicia had paid for a shuttle to take Christopher, our sons and I home when we arrived at Oakland International Airport. What a hot day! In Washington, it was cool and nice. Returning back to Antioch it’s just as hot as usual.

Washington - Day 10

Today Christopher asked his mother and his brother Taylor if they wanted to get baptized. They said yes. Christopher and I called my family and also Sister Anita to inquire on the procedure of baptizing. The saints got happy, which is a great thing. Cindy asked Gary if he wanted to get baptized and apparently he said yes. So Christopher is waiting until Taylor and Gary get home from work which shall be around 10 pm. In the meantime, Christopher, our sons and I went to see the boys great grandma Hasme (mother’s side) and great grandma Carol (father’s side). We ate some seafood at Grandma Carol’s and also Cousin Richard (better known as Cousin Ricky) came over. After we ate our fill and relaxed, we left at about 8-8:15 pm to head back to Christopher’s mother’s home. Gary, Cindy and Taylor got baptized at about 10:30 pm. Hallelujah! Praise God! What a day!

July 25, 2008 Blog Prompt: Share a joke, a story, or a video, whatever--just make us laugh!
Sorry, can’t think of anything right now.

Thursday, July 24, 2008

Today was a day where we all, my mother-in-law Cindy, my brother-in-law Taylor, Christopher, Michael, Elijah and I just sat around the house. My other brother-in-law Charles and his girlfriend Annie were suppose to come over for dinner. It is now 7:16pm and still no sign of them. A good dinner it is too: lasagna, corn and garlic bread. Christopher, our sons and I are suppose to go to Seattle tomorrow afternoon to see Grandma Carol, the boys' grandmother on Christopher's father side. Well, we shall see how everything turns out.

July 24, 2008 Blog Prompt: You'll be on your honor today! Set the timer for one minute and write as much as you can about the following word: secret. Go!

Washington - Day 8

Christopher and I ran a few errands today, together with Taylor my brother-in-law and our sons Michael and Elijah. We all went to China King Buffet for lunch. There are a few things that need to be done but we will hopefully get to them later. Gary, my mother-in-law's husband, treated her to a manicure and me to a pedicure. As we, my mother-in-law Cindy and I were gone, Christopher fell asleep with our two sons. Now mind you when we all are home, he just can't seem to put the boys to sleep but when I am gone, oh he just seems to get the job done right. Go figure.

July 23, 2008 Blog Prompt: Light-hearted or serious, take a "controversial" issue and argue your point of view. Extra points if you argue both sides!
Hmm let's see... Alright, whether to stay in California or move back to Washington.
Me1: It's cheaper to live in WA.
Me2: There are more opportunities in CA.
Me1: The weather is nice, always a medium.
Me2: Employment wise, the pay is higher.
Me1: There is family that Michael and Elijah havn't met yet.
Me2: Yes but in CA Michael and Elijah already have a foundation.

Washington - Day 7

Today is Michael's 2 1/2 years birthday. Another six months and he'll be 3! I already know what theme I want for his 3rd birthday. Overall, it was pretty much a laid back day.

July 22, 2008 Blog Prompt: With The Dark Knight setting box office records this weekend, tell us about the first movie you saw in the theater (or another movie theater story you have).
I was with my friend Latoya, I think we were about 12. I forgot the name of the movie but it was a thriller. The movie was about a man who was suave and good looking. He would kill women he went on dates with. Well, a teenage girl decided to set her mother upon a date with the man not knowing he was a murderer of course. The guy fell for her mom and at the end, the daughter and mother fought for their lives, ending with the man dying.

Washington - Day 6

Well, it has been a decent Monday. Christopher and Michael played in the pool. Elijah's left eye keeps on leaking, will call his pediatrician when we get back to California. We are suppose to go to Old Country Buffet for dinner. Things are just calm and nice right now. It'll be Elijah's first time in a restaurant.

July 21, 2008 Blog Prompt: Neil Armstrong first walked on the moon on this date in 1969. Write a description of walking on themoon or tell us about this event if you remember it.

I was not born yet. I just know it was a historical event.

Washington - Day 5

Nana Cindy grilled some pork steaks for dinner and they smelled so good! Good barbeque always smells good to me. I really likethat smoked scent. Christopher wanted to go to Old Country Buffet today but we decided to go for dinner tomorrow. So far everything is all good.

Washington - Day 4

Today at the family reunion was nice. No drama or anything of the kind happened. I met people I have known already as well as the new. It was so many babies and toddlers. My sons were able to meet their cousins, great aunts and uncles and their paternal great grandmother. Elijah won't remember and Michael may barely remember but they seem to have had fun, especially Michael.

July 19-20, 2008 Blog Prompt: Your weekend...
is beginning quite nice.

Washington - Day 3

Today went well. Christopher and Michael went to the barbershop and Michael cried. He didn't even want the sucker that was given to him. I do like their haircuts, great job. Tomorrow is the family reunion and we don't know who's all coming but it seems it's going to be quite a turnout. I shall tell of it later.

July 18, 2008 Blog Prompt: What's the strangest, scariest or weirdest thing you've ever seen in person?
Hmmm, let's see. I saw this woman wearing the most bizarre outfit. She had on tube socks with blue stripes, rugged, brown, opentoes sandals; her skirt was short and denim, her top was this shiny, blue spandex thing and she topped it off with a denim jacket. Now this may not seem weird but you had to see it. Her hair looked like she dipped it all in water and it frizzed up and she nevercombed it out. her hair was just wild and unkempt. It was those "have to see it to understand" moments.

Washington - Day 2

Today Michael accidently hit a girl my mother-in-law is babysitting. Well, she's babysitting two girls, both sisters. The older girl is 4, decided to pick on Michael and whatnot. Then Michael tried to interact with her and well, he hit her in her left eye. It was an accident but still. The sad thing was afterwards, this girl became nice and respectful to Michael. Go figure. Later on in the evening, I had another one of my infamous gallstones attacks. Christopher and I prayed and the pain subsided and eventuallyleft.

July 17, 2008 Blog Prompt: Do you have a favorite snack to eat on a road trip?
I like certain things. Recently I got hooked on peanut butter crackers. I get Ritz crackers and put creamy peanut butter between them. Like a peanut butter crack sandwich. Also I eat carob, butterscotch, peanut butter and vanilla candy chips all mixed in a bowl. Like a candy trail mix.

Washington - Day 1

So the trip is still on. Christopher, Michael, Elijah and I are heading to Lakewood, Washington. Michael enjoyed his plane ride. The only thing was he became sleepy and started to fuss but overall he handled his second plane ride well. The first time he was on a plane was July 2006. Elijah did well on his first plane ride. Christopher and I ended up with weird headaches. My mother-in-law says it was from cabin pressure. Well, we arrived in Seattle safe and sound.

Going Or Not?

Had service once again and it was enjoyable. Well, Christopher, our sons and I are suppose to be going on a trip from July 16-26 but it doesn’t seem like we are going. I guess we’ll wait and see. It's official: from 7/16-26th, Christopher, Michael, Elijah and I will be in Washington state. I shall return and post.

July 15, 2008 Blog Prompt: Today in History: In 1954, the first Boeing 707 flew. How do you feel about flying?

Funny you should ask. I am leaving tomorrow until the 26th to Washington state. I have a very small fear of flying but it's alright. The thing that bothers me is the roaring sound the plane makes when it's taking off.

Elijah's Birth Certificate

Went to get Elijah’s birth certificate today. Cost $16 but oh well. The time he was born is wrong by five minutes. It’s upsetting but the actions to change it are too strenuous so I said forget it. Besides, we have to go to Berkeley and that’s about 40-45 minutes one way. So for now it’s going to stay just like it is.

July 14, 2008 Blog Prompt: Describe each day of the week using colors and/or sounds.

Sunday, July 13, 2008

Hmm... It's Sunday

Church service was the start of my morning. Later on with the help of my brother David and my husband Christopher, I cleaned the kitchen. David cooked and it was a nice meal. He made baked pork chops with a teriyaki sauce along with rice and yellow squash, yummy!

Much Cooler

It wasn’t as hot today as it has been lately. I am happy about that. The electric/gas bill is going to be ridiculous. The A/C has been on quite a lot. Others have been turning it on but Christopher and I just turn on the fan and is content with that.

Eh...

Another Friday, nothing special.

Happenings With My Father

It was another evening of church service. Today my father was told to go to the hospital because of some complications he has with potassium amongst other things. So he was checked out and everything went well. He was discharged the same night. His diet has to change once again. He’s diabetic but his sugar is under control which is a great thing. We keep praying that things will get better.

Elijah's EKG Appointment

Elijah had an appointment to see a cardiologist. At his one month checkup, his pediatrician said he may have a heart murmur. I cried because this is my baby, you know? So the checkup went fine. The cardiologist said that Elijah’s heart was good and yes, he did have a heart murmur but it was very mild. Called it an “innocent flow”, said when Elijah gets older, it would correct itself. Elijah weighs 9 pounds, 7 ounces and is almost 21 inches long. Christopher went to a couple of computer stores inquiring about employment. He’s now A+ certified, YAY! I think the title he went for was IT technician. He plans on going for his networking certifications. I tease him at times when I ask him to fix something on my computer by asking how much it’s going to cost. He then playfully tells me he’s going to charge me for his services and gives me a price. We are so silly! Michael is now mimicking Elijah and yes, it is annoying. Being almost 2 ½ years old and resorting to asking like an infant is neither cute nor funny. Luckily he doesn’t do it for long. I didn’t think Michael would do this but he proved me wrong. I just hope he get this out of his system really soon.

A Typical Tuesday

Today was a regular day. We had church service like we normally do. Well, I shall be going. Until next time.

Another Hot Day

My, my, my, it was hot today! It was in the high 90’s, low 100’s. I went to the dentist. Last time I went it was October 2005. I was five months pregnant with Michael. This time around I wanted to wait until I gave birth to Elijah before I went to the dentist. Reason why it has been awhile since I have been seen by the dentist is simply this: no dental insurance. Now that I am insured, there are no worries. The doctor said my teeth were great and I have no cavities. He said he can tell I floss. How do they know that? I remember my days of not flossing and then on the same day of my dental appointment, I would brush REALLY well and floss. When my teeth were checked, I was told immediately that I need to floss or I was asked if I floss. Anyway, my blood pressure was checked, I guess it is procedure and it was 127/65 along with my pulse of 75 or 84. I don’t remember which one; it was one of the two. Afterwards, I went to Target and Michaels to see about some scrapbook albums. Michaels was a joke, nothing there I liked except some extension posts and cardstock. Now at Target, I saw several items of interest. I mainly digiscrap and very little of the traditional scrapping but I am going to start doing more of it. I also saw some photo albums I want to get Michael and Elijah. Christopher already bought a photo album for Michael but I saw another one of interest. Later on in the evening Christopher took me and our two sons out to do a little grocery shopping. We came home and I sign onto DSP and lurked around there a bit. It’s after 9 p.m. now, Elijah’s fed and asleep. Michael is with Daddy somewhere in the house and I am about to leave. Good night everyone.

Ramblings On A Sunday

Today my family and I went to church service. Actually we go to service every Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays. Sermon today was “Five Senses”. Our bishop was explaining on God giving us our five senses. People in the neighborhood are coming off their Independence Day “high”. Can still hear firecrackers and whatnot going off. Dinner was delicious: small seashell pasta with cheese sauce and ground turkey, steam broccoli, toasted garlic bread and chef salad. I spent the rest of my evening spending time with my children and husband. I did a little digiscrapping as well. Christopher took Michael out to the park and from the looks of it, Michael had fun. Well, I am going now. Tomorrow is another day.

Fourth of July Aftermath

Last night was a nice outing for the boys, even though Elijah is too young to understand it all. The city provided a great fireworks display. Michael and Elijah got scared at first because of the loud noises of the fireworks but Christopher and I consoled them and everything went alright. We ate Jack n the Box for dinner and Michael was so excited, he could hardly eat. The area where mostly everyone parked was in this dirt field. The fireworks show was at the waterfront and the field was close to the waterfront as well as large enough to accommodate many vehicles. As we got ready to leave for the night, the truck’s tires got stuck in the dirt. Also there was this cable stuck along the right side of the bumper but I was able to get it out. Christopher found some boards to place behind the tires and what do you know? It worked! We were able to go home. Later if possible, I will post a layout of this night, July 4, 2008.

Happy Birthday America!

Well, tonight if all goes well, Christopher and I will be taking our children to see the fireworks. I hope it’s a great show. Last year was nice but I just want to see bigger and better. It’s 5:11 p.m. now and it doesn’t get dark ‘til about 9. Christopher says he wants us to leave around 7:30. I might be back to tell how it was. I bid you adieu for now.

Let's Try This Again

I went to my EKG appointment today. I took along my sons, Michael and Elijah and my mother also went with us. Everything seems fine but I would know more when I speak with my doctor. Afterwards, we all went to Baskin Robbins. That place is too expensive. I heard that some Cold Stone Creamery stores maybe closing due to high prices. One Krispy Kreme store is closed in our area. I remember the craze behind those donuts. I had liked only one kind actually: the original glaze. The thing I didn’t like was how sweet they were. Anyway, I found five scrapbook albums that I honestly like. They are 8.5x8.5 and 12x12 too which was what I really wanted. So to sum it all up: two 12x12 scrapbook albums and three 8.5x8.5 scrapbook albums. Although I think one of the smaller scrapbook albums is an 8x8 but no matter I am happy *cheeses*.

EKG Appointment

Well, I had an appointment today at 9:00 a.m. for an EKG. I arrived at the facility on time but finding parking was horrible. Then I was given wrong directions to where I was supposed to go. By the time I finally arrived at the check-in desk, it was 9:30. I was told I needed to reschedule. So now I must come back tomorrow at 11 a.m. My mother was with me and we went to IHOP to eat. We ran a few errands. I was at Target and found the absolutely perfect 12x12 scrapbook album for Elijah. I bought one already but I don't care for it too much. Now I just need to find three 8x8 or 8.5x8.5 scrapbook albums and also two 12x12 scrapbook albums. We finally came home and I pretty much spent time with my husband and children. Michael is into brushing his teeth so I assisted him in that. Elijah was hungry and needed a diaper change as usual, what do you expect from a 1 ½ month old? So, I shall be back later possibly, to add more of my day.

Blog's First Day

Well, today is the day. I now have a blog... I woke up to Elijah’s morning cries and finding out Michael urinated on the bed. Now, Michael is 100% potty trained. I mean this boy even cleans his potty and wipes himself. Of course either Christopher or I would double check to make sure he did everything correctly but the point is Michael self sufficient for a 2 ½ years old. So this bout of urinating in the bed is new since he hasn’t done it since becoming potty trained. Have been told that some older siblings (toddler ages) would resort to being an infant when their newborn/infant siblings are born. Is Michael doing this? Now sure yet, will be waiting to see. I spoke to Sister Michele, a fellow saint, this morning. She was having some complications in her pregnancy but God gave her the victory. Thank the Lord! I am set to get my testimony regarding my pregnancy/birth of Elijah out to the saints as well as his birth announcement.
